Beach Body Tips

Ready For Summer? Follow These Easy Tips To Get That Beach Body in Time For The Beach

With summer just around the corner, many of us are beginning to consider just how ready we are for baring more.  If you’ve spent the Winter months hibernating and eating like a bear than it probably means you’ve got some toning and dieting to do.  Below are some simple ways to get started today so that by beach party time you’ll be ready to sport your best beach body yet.

Cutting Calories:

In order to lose weight you’ll need to do more than simply workout.  You also need to follow a healthy diet plan.  In order to lose a pound a week you’ll need to cut five hundred calories a day.  Because a pound is equivalent to 3500 calories, this means cutting 500 each day for seven days.

If you want to speed up this process you can obviously add exercise to your life and/or cut a few more calories.  Don’t crash diet because this will only give way to rebound weight gain, but depending on your size and weight you can cut a few more calories and still be healthy.  Just don’t go below 1200 calories a day.

Exercise:

Adding exercise to you routine is a great way to tone up.  Beginning now you’ll want to start hitting the gym about four times a week in order to see good results by summer.  If you start now you’ll be able to dramatically improve the look of your body before the Summer Solstice.

For a good exercise routine start with doing cardio two to three times a week and weight training twice a week.  You can do them both together as well if you wish but make sure that you don’t overdo it on any given day.  A good rule of thumb would be to do twenty minutes of cardio on weight training days and only train the upper or lower part of the body, not both.  If you overdo it you’ll be sure to be sore the next day and thus to potentially sacrifice the rest of you week’s workouts.

Little Steps Make the Difference

Beginning today will get you one step closer to that beach body you’ve always dreamed of.  Finding a personal trainer can be useful, particularly if you’re new to the working out phenomenon.  Likewise joining a group of dieters or even an online community of dieters can help you stay motivated and keep you accountable.  When things get hard just keep reminding yourself about how great it will feel to actually achieve your weight loss goals this year!
